Gridiron Grind™ Official Rules
Win The Pennant™ Gridiron Grind™

Overview: Gridiron Grind™ (GG) will begin play on Thursday, September 4th, 2008 and end on Monday, December 22, 2008. The regular season will be 12 weeks in length. The playoffs will begin with NFL week 13 and extend through week 16 of the NFL regular season (four weeks total). Only teams who are in the top 33.3% of the standings at the end of week 12 will qualify for the playoffs.

Scoring Period: Each week will consist of all NFL football games played during that week beginning each Tuesday at 8 a.m. and ending each Tuesday at 7:59 a.m. If you wish to use a player for a particular game, that player must be set five minutes prior to their National Football Leaguel game played on that particular day. Example: You want to use Marvin Harrison and the Colts play Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern. Harrison must be in your lineup by 12:55 p.m. that Sunday. Now, let's say you want to use Tom Brady and the Patriots don't play until Monday night at 9 p.m. Eastern. Brady must be in your QB spot no later than 8:55 p.m.

Player Usage: Each week managers will select one QB, two RB, three WR, one TE, one K and one team defense to makeup their lineup. One additional QB and one additional FLEX RB/WR can be selected as Insurance players (see below) for each week. A player may be used for one week ONLY during the season. After a player is used he is considered "burned" and will not be able to be used again including the playoffs.

Starting Lineups: will consist of the following:

Starters:
1 quarterback
2 running backs
3 wide receivers
1 tight end
1 kicker
1 team defense

Insurance players (optional):
1 quarterback
1 flex running back or wide receiver

Insurance players: Insurance players are Gridiron Grind's version of a mulligan. Insurance players are set with each teams lineup before each week begins. Each manager will be given the option of replacing a starting player with the insurance player at any time during the week. Purchasing an insurance player replaces the starter's stats with the insurance player's stats for that week's game. If the insurance player is purchased, the starter that is replaced is no longer considered "burned" and will be elgible for future use. If an insurance player is selected and not used (purchased), he is considered "burned".

Insurance fees: To purchase insurance for a player, the cost is $5.00. This fee is collected at the time of the transaction. A portion of each transaction will be added to the prize pool.

Playoffs: Begin after the 12th week has been completed and will last four weeks. The top 33.3% of managers will make the playoffs. In the event of a tie for the last playoff spot, all teams tied for the final position will qualify for the postseason. Division winners automatically qualify for the playoffs. Scores RESET at the beginning of the playoffs but player availability does not.

Entry fees: One team - $50, Two teams - $80, Three teams - $100.

Divisions: Will consist of a maximum of 10 teams. This will be set based on the number of entrants.

Payouts: Prize pool consists of: Player entry fees and a portion of transaction fees. The following example is based on 250 single team entrants before transaction money is added to the pot:

PAYOUTS
1st $5,000
2nd $1,000
3rd $600
4th $400
5th $250
6th - 10th $150
11th - 20th $50
Division winners $100

Best of the Rest: The remaining 66.7% of owners who do not qualify for the playoffs will still be in competition for the Best of the Rest prize. The team that finishes with the most points out of this group of teams will win the Best of the Rest jackpot.
